Case 5 A 65-year-old man with chronic cigarette smoking but no prior cardiac history was referred for exercise SPECT MPI for evaluation of exertional dyspnea. Raw Planar Images and SPECT Tomograms The raw planar images demonstrate soft-tissue attenuation and GI tracer activity in close proximity to the heart. Based on the patient’s height and weight, his body mass index is 34.3 (>30 = obese). Patient motion is also noted. SPECT images demonstrate a severe and extensive inferior perfusion defect.
