ATRIOVENTRICULAR NODAL REENTRANT TACHYCARDIA WITH 2:1 AV BLOCK
Case presented by:
An 81-year-old female patient presents with recurrent episodes of palpitations with associated dizziness and presyncope. Episodes offset suddenly and usually occur at rest. Her medical history is significant for hypertension, currently under treatment with metoprolol 50 mg twice daily. Her physical examination is unremarkable. Echocardiography reveals normal left ventricular systolic function with no valvular heart disease.
A 12-lead ECG of the tachycardia is shown in Figures 9.1 and 9.2. Intracardiac electrograms (EMGs) of the tachycardia are shown in Figures 9.3 and 9.4.
