The Right Ventricular Capillary Hemangiomas with Cystic Change

The RVOT was blocked by this mass, with a high-velocity flow demonstrated by color Doppler (Figure 54.1b and Videoclip 54.1b,c). The flow velocity was 3.1 m/sec by continuous wave Doppler (gradient 46.5 mmHg). The velocity of diastolic flow in the proximal end of the stalk attached to the septum was 1.1 m/sec.

TTE: apical 4-chamber view showed that right atrium (RA) and right ventricle (RV) were enlarged. There was mild tricuspid regurgitation; the peak regurgitant velocity was 4.2 m/sec, suggesting RV systolic pressure >65 mmHg.

Hospital Course

The tumor was successfully removed surgically. The pathologic diagnosis was right ventricular capillary hemangiomas with cystic change. The patient was discharged in good conditions.
