Right-Sided Cardiac Metastatic Pleomorphic Sarcoma

The right atrium (RA) was moderately dilated. The interatrial septum bowed toward the left during atrial contraction consistent with elevated RA pressure. LV was normal in size and systolic function, the septum bowed toward LV during systole suggesting right sided pressure overload (Videoclip 64.2).

Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a mass in RV. The mass was heterogeneous in signal on steady-state-free-precession imaging, isointense on a fast high-resolution multislice T1-weighted turbo spin-echo (TSE) imaging, and hyperintense on T2 TSE imaging.

Pathology

The buttock mass is examined by pathology and diagnosed as a high-grade pleomorphic undifferentiated sarcoma with myxoid.
