The annual American Journal of Cardiology ( AJC ) editorial board meeting was held on March 30, 2014, at the time of the Annual Scientific Sessions of the American College of Cardiology. A major purpose of the meeting is to bring the board members up to date on activities during the previous year and to thank them for reviewing manuscripts during the year. The meeting began with a discussion by the publisher, Ms. Jane M. Grochowski, who described several exciting initiatives that Elsevier has innovated during the past year for many of their journals, including the AJC . Ms. Grochowski provided a number of additional editorial pages for the AJC during the later months of 2013 and those additional pages allowed us to decrease the lag time from acceptance of a manuscript to its publication from approximately 5 months to its present 3 months. The following editorial matters then were discussed:
- 1.
