OP-057 Enhanced Peripheral Monocyte Toll- Like Receptor Expression in Persistent Atrial Fibrillation Patients

Objective

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained arrhythmia. Electrical and structural remodeling in the atrium have been suggested to contribute to its pathogenesis. Activity of monocytes localized in the left atrium via Toll- like receptor (TLR) expression has not been evaluated yet. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether peripheral monocyte Toll-like receptor (TLR) expression was associated with type of AF.

Methods

Patients with AF who were scheduled for cryoballoon- based ablation were included. Peripheral monocyte TLR- 2 and 4 expression were evaluated by flow cytometric analysis in peripheral venous blood samples.
