OP-024 A Novel Biomarker in Syndrome X Disease:Mr-Proadrenomedullin

Objective

Cardiac Syndrome X (CSX), characterized by angina-like chest discomfort, ST segment depression during exercise, and normal epicardial coronary arteries at angiography, is a highly prevalent condition in women. Elevated concentrations of MR-proADM have been reported to be associated with cardiovascular mortality and morbidity in the general population. In this study, the compensatory increase in MR-proADM level in CSX patients was explored.

Methods

Our study population consisted of 56 male and female patients between 30 and 75 years of age who were admitted to Diyarbakir Gazi Yasargil Education and Research Hospital between September 2014 and September 2015. All patients underwent coronary angiography in our unit. There were 24 patients in the control group, who had normal angiography and 32 patients with cardiac syndrome X, who had positive exercise test as well as signs of ischemia in myocardial perfusion scintigraphy
