Aim


The aim of the current study was to compare the new oral anticoagulants with warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation and diabetes.




Methods


Three large randomized trials of the new oral anticoagulants (n = 14415) were included in this meta-analysis. Subgroup analysis of diabetic patients with atrial fibrillation was performed. The RE-LY trial had 2 doses of dabigatran. Therefore, 2 subgroups were included in the meta-analysis.
