Hemangioma in the Right Ventricle


Hospital Course


Surgery was successfully performed. Operative exploration revealed that the tumor was a hemorrhagic, ovoid, soft mass, covered by glistening endocardium (membrane), arose from the interventricular septum, and extended to the apex of RV (6 cm × 6 cm × 5 cm). Its margin was clear, but stalk was unclear.


Pathological diagnosis was hemangioma.


Discussion


The incidence of hemangiomas is 0.8–5% of all benign primary cardiac tumors [1].
