Acute Endocarditis with Diastolic Mitral Regurgitation


Transesophageal echocardiography images show aortic vegetation, paravalvular abscess, and prolapse; AR, systolic and diastolic MR (Videoclip 75.1).


Discussion


The diagnosis of acute infectious endocarditis (IE) was confirmed in this case. There are two points worthy of discussion on this case—perivalvular abscess formation with heart block and diastolic MR.
