Hospital course: Saline was infused, a chest tube was placed and 800 cc of bloody fluid was drained from the pleural cavity. A subxyphoid pericardiocentesis was performed after the TTE and 300 cc of bloody fluid was removed. A median sternotomy was performed and a 2.5-cm stab wound to the RV was oversewn.
