PP-187 Transient Thrombocytopenia Following Medtronic Profile 3D Annuloplasty Ring Implantation

Objective

Ring annuloplasty is the essential part of a mitral valve repair. Medtronic profile 3D annuloplasty rings are used to perform this procedure in recent years with very limited side effects. We hereby present a case with transient thrombocytopenia following medtronic profile 3D annuloplasty ring implantation.

Methods

A 71-year-old female underwent mitral and aortic valve repair surgery for severe mitral and aortic insufficiency. Commisural resuspentation was performed for the aortic valve. Secondary chordae resection and undersized fully rigid ring annuloplasty with medtronic profile 3d ring were performed for the mitral valve. Transient thrombocytopenia was observed in early postoperative period.
