PP-183 ABO Blood Group Distribution of Patients Diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease

Objective

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is a complex disease associated with many risk factors including age, gender and obesity. Association between CAD and carbohydrate based ABO system antigens, especially increased CAD risk in patients with blood groups, other than O is indicated in various studies (Zhong M., et al, 2015; Shi Y., et al, 2015; Hu X., et al, 2015). Because of this we aimed to investigate blood group disrubution of patients diagnosed with CAD and evaluate the relation between ABO blood type system and CAD.

Methods

Patient files of CAD patients admitted to Cardiology Clinic of our Training Hospital between December 2014 and December 2015 were evaluated, in this retrospective study. Forward A, B, AB, O and DVI- (Rh) antigens and reverse A1, B antibodies are detected by gel centrifugation method.
