PP-182 Workup Forgotten: Telecardiography

Objective

Telecardiograpy is an imaging method that scan posterior-anterior (PA) of chest so as to screen the real size of heart, whose tube-film range will be 180 cm. As for PA chest radiography, tube-film distance is 120 cm. In chest films taken closer, cardiac silhouette appear larger than a normal size and even a normal size cardiamay be interpreted as cardiomegaly and may mislead the physician.

Recently, we realized that among the imaging methods telecardiography is ordered less than PA chest radiography and we aimed to emphasize its importance.

Methods

Telecardiography taken in our hospital and patient numbers of PA chest X-rays were scanned for a year from the database of our hospital and the results were analyzed.
