PP-120 Electrophysiological Validation of Total Atrial Conduction Time Measurement by Means of Tissue Doppler Echocardiography in Different Age and Sex Group

Purpose

We sought to validate the total atrial conduction time (TACT) measurements through tissue doppler imaging (TDI) by comparing with the electrophysiologic study (EPS) measurements in different age and sex group.

Methods

80 patients with normal EPS results were included. TACT was measured by means of EPS and TDI. For the validation, TDI were compared with the EPS. TACT was assessed by measuring the time interval between the beginning of the P-wave on the surface ECG and point of the peak A-wave on TDI from left atrial lateral wall, just over the mitral annulus. Electrophysiological TACT was defined as the time from high right atrial electrogram to distal coronary sinus atrial electrogram around the left lateral portion of the mitral ring.
