PP-070 Evaluation of Cardiac Systolic and Diastolic Function with Ecocardiography in Overt Hypothyroidism




Introduction


Hypothyroidism is a condition characterized by a lack of thyroid hormone and effect the whole organs and systems. Also hypothyroidisim causes pathological changes on cardiyovascular system.




Purpose


We aimed to evaluate cardiac systolic and diastolic function with transthorasic ecocardioghraphy in overt hypothyroidisim and compare them with control grup which was selected from healty individuals.

Material-Method


After the ethic council approval, case group was chosen from the overt hypothyroid patients which selected from Internal Medicine Clinic of Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital and follow up patients from polyclinics. And the control group was selected from healty individuals which has no thyroid dysfunction. We included 50 patients for each group in our study. The patients ages are between 30-70.The illnesses which effect heart’s systolic ad diastolic function were excluded from the study. Cardiac functions were evaluate with transthoracic echocardiography.We used SPSS 22.0 program for analysis.
