PP-065 Is There a Relationship between Hand Grip Strength, HDL, BMI and Exercise in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease?

Objective

Muscle strength and function progressively decreases with aging, but it may also decrease in younger people who are immobile or not mobile enough. However, muscle strength is affected by chronic diseases and body mass index(BMI). In this study, hand grip strength, BMI, exercise status and HDL in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD) are evaluated.

Methods

Patients who are admitted to cardiology and family medicine outpatient clinics with angiography proved CHD were included. Demographic features, chronic conditions, BMI, hand grip strength and lipid profiles of patients were evaluated.Hand grip strength was measured with hand dynamometer. Self -reported minutes per week of exercise is recorded as exercise status.
