Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The 20th edition of the international meeting of the French working group on Echocardiography, a group of the French Society of Cardiology, has been renamed ‘PARIS-ECHO’, with the subtitle, ‘Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Imaging’.
Of course, our national working group has acknowledged the evolution of the former European Association of Echocardiography into the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging, as well as the transformation of EURO-ECHO into EURO-ECHO-Imaging.
Therefore, you may have noticed that the scope of PARIS-ECHO 2013 is now widely open to all cardiac imaging modalities, even if echocardiography remains the primary technique.
The main theme of our 2013 meeting will be: ‘from 2D to real-time 3D imaging’. During most of the sessions, we will start with clinical issues or pathologies and try to integrate the role of cardiovascular imaging techniques for the individual patient’s management.
Five main topics will be addressed during this meeting:
- •
new cardiovascular imaging techniques;
- •
cardiac valve diseases, prostheses and endocarditis;
- •
heart failure, cardiomyopathy, hypertension;
- •
coronary artery disease, stress-echo, intensive care;
- •
thoracic aorta, congenital heart diseases.
The abstracts you will find below have also been grouped according to these five topics into eight moderated poster sessions.
We sincerely hope that PARIS-ECHO 2013 will be the occasion to learn from the best international experts and also to share ideas and projects between colleagues in a stimulating and friendly atmosphere.
We look forward to meeting you at PARIS-ECHO 2013.
Warmest regards.
