OP-165 Increased Frequency of Fragmented Qrs in Patients with Myocardial Bridge

Objective

Fragmentation of QRS complexes (fQRS) includes various RSR’ patterns with different morphologies of QRS complexes with or without the Q wave on a resting 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG). Presence of fQRS reflects myocardial conduction abnormalities likely due to myocardial fibrosis which is considered a prognostic marker for lethal cardiac arrhythmias. The myocardial bridge (MB) is an anomaly characterized by a typical intramyocardial route of a segment of one of the major coronary arteries. The aim of the present study was to investigate the presence of myocardial fibrosis determined by fragmented QRS in patients with MB.

Methods

A total of 87 patients with MB were selected from our medical records between January 2012 to December 2013. Presence of MB detected by Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography in all patients. We compared the clinical and ECG data of these patients with 73 volunteers matched for age and sex. Fragmented QRS was assessed using a 12-lead ECG. fQRS was defined as the presence of various RSR’ patterns with different morphologies of QRS complexes with or without the Q wave.
