OP-141 Comorbidities Accompanying Hospitalizations of Heart Failure

Objective

Heart failure causes 500.000 hospital admissions and 5 million hospitalization days annually. In many clinical trials, hospitalization due to heart failure is an outcome of the trial. However comorbidities along with heart failure are not uncommon. In this study we aimed to investigate comorbidities accompanying hospitalizations of heart failure and their frequencies.

Methods

Hospitalizations since 2005 at Istanbul Medeniyet University Goztepe Training and Research Hospital were evaluated. Patients with “heart failure” as hospitalization cause were selected from the database. Their discharge files were compared to their hospitalization files and diseases added to heart failure diagnosis during hospitalization were recorded.
