OP-077 The Relationship between Frontal QRS-T Angle and Age in Patients with ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction




Background


The blowout of electrical forces through the myocardial wall is distorted, if the myocardial damage occurs. The QRS/T angle characterizes the balanced regulation of electric activation. Wider QRS/T angle has been associated with fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular disease events. In this study, we tried to investigate the prognostic importance of frontal QRS-T angle in different age groups of patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).




Material-Method


A total of 69 patients with STEMI have been analyzed retrospectively. Patients divided into two groups according to age (≤ 45-years-old and > 45-years-old). Basal demographic, laboratory and clinical outcomes were compared between two groups.

Results


The frontal QRS-T angle was statistically significant in older patients with STEMI compared to those of younger patients with STEMI (p=0.025). In univariate correlation analysis, RDW, MPV, LDL, Hypertension, serum uric acid, fasting glucose, ın –hospital mortality, gender, age and serum creatinine level have been found significantly correlated with frontal QRS-T angle (p < 0.05 for all). In multivariate linear regression analysis, only gender (OR=0.326, p= 0.027), ın-hospital mortality (OR= 0.362, p= 0.012) and MPV (OR= 0.431, p= 0.003) were found as independent predictors of frontal QRS-T angle in patients with STEMI.
