OP-076 The Importance of Speckle Tracking Echocardiography in the Detection of Left Atrial Dysfunction in Patients with Coronary Artery Diseases

Objecive

Speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) is a method which can be used in the evaluation of the left atrium (LA). The relationship with LA deformation in patients who have been previously graded for extent and severity of coronary artery disease with syntax score (SS) has not been clearly investigated. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between syntax score and left ventricle end diastolic pressure (LVEDP) measured with an invasive method and LA functions.

Methods

The study included 124 patients to whom cardaic catheterisation was applied. LVEDP values and coronary images were obtained from the patients. Syntax scores were calculated and separated into 3 tertiles (syntax =0, syntax <22 and syntax >22). Standard echocardiography and STE were applied to all the patients. Peak LA strain (LAs-strain) in ventricle end systole and LA strain during LA contraction (LAa-strain) values were obtained with STE.
