OP-012 Carotid Intima Media Thickness and Epicardial Fat Thickness is More Correlated with Syntax 2 Score than Anatomical Syntax Score

Introduction

Carotid intima media thickness (CIMT) and epicardial fat thickness (EFT) is well known surrogate markers of subclinical atherosclerosis. Also, they have been suggested as prognostic markers in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Syntax score II (SS-II) is a novel score which consisted of a combination of anatomical syntax score (aSS) and clinical variables. However, there is no data about SS-II and CIMT and/or EFT. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the relation between SS-II and CIMT-EFT, which assessed as a surrogate markers of atherosclerosis.

Methods

We enrolled 543 patients with stable CAD and acute coronary syndrome without persistent ST elevation into this cross-sectional study. We calculated SS-II and aSS and recorded all clinical variables (Age, creatinine clearance, LVEF, Left main, Sex, COPD and PVD) from all patients. Also, we measured CIMT and EFT before coronary angiography. Then, we performed statistical analysis according to median value of SS-II.
