Indications for TEE



1. Cardiac or aortic source of emboli.

2. Congenital heart disease/intracardiac shunts.

3. Endocarditis (moderate/high clinical suspicion or initial risk).

4. Cardiac tumors/masses.

5. Aortic diseases (dissection, aneurysm/transsection/ulcer/hematoma).

6. Valvular prosthesis malfunction.

7. Pre a.fib/flutter cardioversion/ablation.

8. Mechanism of regurgitation in native valves.

9. Inadequate TTE images.

10. Correct position of IABP.

11. Mitral valve examination pre and post repair.

12. Pre and post- mitral valve valvuloplasty.

13. Intraop evaluation.
