End-stage Renal Disease on Hemodialysis





The patient is a 35-year-old woman who has a significant past medical history of end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis through a PermCath (Covidien, Mansfield, Massachusetts) and was admitted in septic shock. The patient was transferred to the intensive care unit and now has multiple positive blood cultures.
