Dilated Cardiomyopathy
- LV/RV size increased, global hypokinesis (SWMA may present), mural thrombus.
- Low CO causes decreased MV separation, AV cusp closure is tapered.
- Spontaneous echo contrast in LV on 2D images.
- Diastole: impaired relaxation;pseudonormal or restrictive pattern if more advanced.
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Myocardium appears granular; cavity is small, with near complete systolic obliteration.
