Aortic Valve Replacement after Endocarditis





A 52-year-old man has a past history of bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement secondary to aortic valve endocarditis. He now presents to the hospital with 2 months of worsening shortness of breath and lower extremity edema. A transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) was performed (Fig. 34-1 and Videos 34-1 to 34-4).
