Accuracy of 64-slice multislice computed tomography for evaluating coronary stent patency: does strut thickness matter?

Background

In-stent restenosis is the major long-term complication of percutaneous coronary intervention. Only invasive coronary angiography (ICA) was able to reliably diagnose in-stent restenosis. Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) is less invasive and less expensive than IC.

Objectives

To assess the diagnostic accuracy of MSCT in coronary in-stent restenosis in comparison to the gold standard ICA and to study stent properties that may impact MSCT accuracy.
