ECG 58 A 70-year-old man gave a history of several years of chest pain on exertion. These are his ECGs at rest (upper trace) and on exercise (lower trace). What do they show?

The upper ECG shows:

• Sinus rhythm, rate 68/min

• Right axis deviation

• Small Q waves in leads III, VF

• Persistent S wave in leads V₅–V₆

• Inverted T waves in leads II, III, VF, V₁
