Dr. Wyman Lai greets Council on Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease Founder’s Award winner Dr. James Huhta of the Congenital Heart Institute of Florida (CHIF), St. Petersburg, FL. Dr. Huhta was the 12 th recipient of the award, which recognizes major scholarly contribution to the field of pediatric echocardiography. Harvey Feigenbaum, MD, FASE congratulates 2011 Feigenbaum Lecturer Judy Hung, MD, FASE of the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. The lectureship, named in honor of Dr. Feigenbaum, ASE’s founder and first president, is awarded to a young investigator in recognition of his or her significant contribution in the field of echocardiography and potential to continue at a high level of achievement. Dr. Hung’s lecture was titled “A Tale of Two Leaflets: Innovation in Echocardiography.” President Kaul congratulates Richard Popp Excellence in Teaching Award winner Jonathan R. Lindner, MD, FASE of Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. Dr. Lindner was nominated by his peers for his excellence in teaching for the award, which is named in honor of ASE’s second president and recognizes physicians who epitomize the ideal qualities possessed by a mentor and role model.
